Terms & Conditions

The basis on which we discuss, quote and carry out locksmith work, and what the information on this website does and does not represent.

01

These terms

These terms apply to locksmith services provided by Mc Locksmith Service Prahran, of 484 Malvern Rd, Prahran VIC 3181, Australia, and to your use of this website. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Mc Locksmith Service Prahran, and "you" means the person requesting or receiving the services.

Where we have provided you with a separate written quotation or scope of work, that document applies together with these terms and prevails to the extent of any inconsistency.

02

Information on this website

The content on this website is general information about locksmith work and is not advice about your specific lock, door or property. Locks and doors can only be assessed properly in person, and nothing on this website should be treated as a remote diagnosis.

We do not publish arrival times, availability windows or response-time guarantees on this website, and no statement here should be read as promising any particular timeframe.

We do not publish prices on this website. Any figure discussed before we have inspected the work is an indication only, not a fixed price.

03

Enquiries and quotations

An enquiry made through this website or by telephone is a request for us to discuss the work. It does not create a booking or a contract until we have confirmed the work with you.

Any quotation we provide is based on the information available at the time, including what you have described and what we were able to observe. If the actual condition of the lock, door or frame differs materially from that, we will discuss the change with you before continuing.

04

Authorisation and access

Before assisting with access to a property, or carrying out work that changes access to it, we must be satisfied that you are the owner, tenant or otherwise authorised occupier of that property, or that you are acting with the authority of that person. We may ask you to demonstrate this.

Where the property is leased, strata titled or managed by another party, it is your responsibility to obtain any permission required from the owner, owners corporation or managing agent before work proceeds.

We may decline to carry out work where authorisation cannot reasonably be established.

05

Carrying out the work

We will carry out the work agreed with you with reasonable care and skill, and take reasonable care of your property while we are there.

Some locksmith work necessarily affects existing hardware, and in some cases the existing lock, cylinder or fittings cannot be preserved. Where we expect this, we will tell you before starting.

Pre-existing conditions — such as a warped door, a damaged frame, dropped hinges, deteriorated timber or previous poor-quality installation — may limit what can be achieved and may need to be addressed separately. We will explain where this applies.

06

Security limitations

No lock, hardware item or piece of locksmith work makes a property immune from unauthorised entry, and we make no such claim. Security depends on the whole assembly of door, frame, hardware, other access points and how the property is used.

Where we publish general information about locks and hardware, we do so to help you make an informed decision, not as a warranty about outcomes.

07

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that applies to you under the Australian Consumer Law and cannot lawfully be excluded.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any other loss is limited to re-supplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.

08

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.

If you have a concern about work we have carried out, please contact us on 03 4052 9523 or at info@mclocksmithservice.com.au so we can address it.
